The original DS was quite big, this is a much newer version which is much smaller and around 20% lighter than the original. The stylus is longer and a little thicker, when not in use this can be slid into the side of the console. There is a cover over the cartridge slot which makes sure no dirt gets inside when you're not using a card in there. The buttons have also been slightly moved to make it easier to use.
